Rima Kato started band called ‘Strrows’ in teenager. Strrows was lo-fi folk duo like a The Softies, Melody Dog, Marine Girls, Chamellows, Dear Nora, DQE, etc. They released few albums from Midi-Creative Records in Japan. Then Strrows broke up.
She continued compose and recording alone, without any gigs and behind the scenes over ten years. This "Four Songs" is her first solo works. Her music has a sense of melancholy and transparency like a old folk songs and the spirit of indie rock.
She has shared the same stage with Sharon Van Etten, Julie Doiron, Mount Eerie, Laura Gibson, Kira Kira, Pascal Pinon, Eddie Marcon, etc.
Really wonderful angular guitar pop. The vocal-less Poppuddle has a meandering wandering guitar with added synth boingsploing that makes a calm but funky outro to an excellent album. Lachan Simpson
